A good logo can quickly grab people’s attention and communicate a company’s core values in an exciting way. With ever-decreasing attention spans (studies say often less than 8 seconds*), it's essential to have a solid logo that speaks for your company or organization. As the saying goes, "You only get one chance to make a first impression." Now, more than ever.
A solid logo also lets people learn more about you and your brand. I strive to maintain that branding in my work. There should be consistency in color schemes, imagery, and the overall "voice" of the company. I've worked with internal teams, consulting companies, and individual entrepreneurs to develop this messaging and overall brand packaging.
You often have to dare to be different to set yourself apart from the competition. A striking logo that stands out and leads people to do more research can do just that. The top logos in the world are so identifiable because of this. You can look at the Nike swoosh and immediately know it's Nike. There's a reason for that.
I combine this section with my illustration experience. Stories are often better told in small chunks with good visuals than with huge blocks of copy, which coincides with our ever-decreasing attention spans. That's also why data visualization and eye-catching infographics (seen in my Print Design section) are also desirable when telling a story.
